In Alberta, there are currently no accepted professional standards or educational curricula to ensure that accredited professionals receive adequate training in recovery-oriented care.
The Recovery Training Institute of Alberta (RTIA) is here to change that. As a community resource, we support individuals and organizations by providing accessible education, training, and professional development opportunities. Our programs foster collaboration, promote best practices, and create a shared vision for recovery-oriented system care.
Through expert-led training, knowledge sharing, and flexible learning options—including in- person, virtual, and on-site training—we help strengthen the workforce, ensuring individuals and organizations have the tools they need to grow, learn, and lead in recovery-oriented care.
RTIA is a community resource dedicating to supporting individuals and organizing working in Alberta’s ROSC through education, training, and career development.
We offer hands on and virtual training that aligns with the dynamic needs of operators and the workforce behind Alberta’s recovery-oriented system of care.
Our programs set a standard of excellence in mental health and addiction care, integrating the latest research and evidence- based approaches to build the knowledge and skills essential for delivering effective, compassionate care.
We bring together experts to develop our programs and facilitate training, creating opportunities for learning, collaboration, and shared growth. At RTIA, we teach—and invite you to teach— building a stronger, more informed community of care.
We offer flexible professional development and Continuing Education opportunities for individuals and organizations. Our programs serve as valuable tools and resources for professional growth and organizational training.
Our programs are accessible, culturally sensitive, and adaptive, designed to meet the diverse needs of individuals and organizations. Available at no cost, we offer training in-person, virtually, or at your organization, making high-quality education accessible to all.
